ARCADIA, Calif. – (March 2, 2017) - More than 900 guests attended the 22nd annual Methodist Hospital Foundation Mardi Gras celebration on Feb. 28 at Sirona’s in Santa Anita Park, which raised more than $175,000 for breast health care and digital mammography services at the hospital.
Mardi Gras served gourmet foods from more than 30 of the San Gabriel Valley’s most popular restaurants, as well as offering libations, a festive parade, crazy costumes, dancing, live music, an exciting silent auction, and mysterious raffle boxes all for a great cause. The event also featured dancing to the ’80z All-Stars live band, and the traditional Mardi Gras parade led by the Arcadia High School pep band.
Key event supporters include top sponsor Congress Orthopaedic Associates, as well as “Carnivale” sponsors including Davita Healthcare Partners; Dr. Robert Siew and Mark Hafeman; WIN Group; and Whittier Trust.
Mardi Gras also honored and crowned cardiologist Stephen Soldo, MD, and his wife Patty as “King and Queen of Mardi Gras 2017” for their long-time dedication to Methodist Hospital. They have given generously of their time and resources and the hospital is fortunate to be able to acknowledge their many years of service to the community. Special thanks to event co-chairs Mary Bigley, Erica Cornejo, Sherry Wang and the committee members for all their hard work organizing the event.
