- a history of philanthropic support
Thirty-two years ago, an elegant affaire designed to recognize hospital
donors was held on the roof of the north parking structure at Methodist
Hospital. With its popularity increasing, the Crystal Ball, now a fundraising
event, has become “the” social event of the San Gabriel Valley. Throughout its history,
it has generated approximately $10.5 million dollars to support programs
such as the COVID-19 Fund, Comprehensive Stroke and Endovascular Services,
creation of a new state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Unit, expansion of Cardiac,
Stroke, and Emergency Services, and the purchase of advanced technology
and equipment at Methodist Hospital.
This gala fundraiser features a hosted reception, fine dining, a silent
auction, a remarkable live auction, entertainment, and plenty of dancing!
An exciting tradition of this event is the performance of headline entertainment.
Some of the talented performers featured in years past include Kool &
The Gang, Paul Anka, Kenny Loggins, The Beach Boys, Smokey Robinson, Natalie
Cole, and Foreigner.
Crystal Ball 2020 could not be held in its usual format, but the need for
support was never greater so this annual gala strayed from tradition.
On November 15th, it featured a VIP Drive-Thru Reception for sponsors and ticketed guests.
Later that evening, the Virtual Crystal Ball Event was livestreamed on
YouTube. The program featured pre-recorded videos of Methodist Hospital’s
Frontline Hero honorees who talked about their experiences during the
pandemic. The unique event raised
$525,000 in net proceeds to support the COVID-19 Fund at Methodist Hospital.
On October 9th, we are thrilled to return to a traditional in-person format as Methodist
Hospital Foundation will hold the 32nd Crystal Ball at the Pasadena Convention Center. The event will honor
Aner and Rebecca Iglesias for their many contributions to Methodist Hospital and the community and
feature The Ultimate Queen Celebration Starring Marc Martel. Proceeds
will support advanced technology and innovative treatments at Methodist Hospital.
We invite you to support Crystal Ball 2021 to ensure Methodist Hospital
has the funds needed to care for our community for years to come. For

Proceeds from the 32nd Annual Crystal Ball will support the advanced technology
and innovative treatments our community needs.Methodist Hospital is embarking on a program to update technology, transform
surgical services and take the next step forward in our constant journey
toward unsurpassed quality.
Methodist Hospital has proudly served the residents of Arcadia and surrounding
communities for 118 years. Today, our 348-bed hospital treats more than
39,000 emergency department visitors each year and admits some 12,900
patients annually. Methodist is the leading provider of services in this
region, driven by a commitment to respond to healthcare needs in our community.
Healthcare has changed enormously in recent years. Lives that once would
have been lost can now be saved. Patient stays that would have been lengthy
are now short. Procedures that could only be dreamed of are performed
routinely. All this is possible today because Methodist Hospital has the
right equipment and facilities to attract and enable the very best caregivers.
Advances that you, our loyal donors, have helped provide. Change continues,
though, and more awaits us on the horizon of healthcare.
Honorees: Aner and Rebecca Iglesias
