Angina

Definition

Angina is a type of chest discomfort due to poor blood flow through the blood vessels (coronary vessels) of the heart muscle (myocardium).

Some patients (especially women, the elderly, and people with diabetes) have unusual symptoms, such as:

  • Fatigue
  • Jaw, arm, or back pain
  • Shortness of breath
  • Weakness
