Breast Diagnostic Options

Women with any suspicious breast lump or calcification have a range of biopsy choices: Ultrasound-guided core biopsy to obtain small samples from a breast lump; Stereotactic core-needle biopsy, which removes small samples of a breast lump or calcification; and Excisional biopsy, which involves surgical removal of the entire grouping of a lump or calcification.

Patients at Methodist Hospital have direct access to the latest medical therapies for every type of cancer. The dedicated inpatient cancer unit admits patients for infusional chemotherapy. Individuals who can receive therapy in an outpatient setting are cared for in private rooms, where family members can keep their loved ones company.
