Special Patient Care Units

Our cardiac patients are cared for in one of three units in the hospital - the intensive care unit (ICU), coronary care unit (CCU), or specialized cardiac patient care unit in the new Berger Tower - depending on the needs of the individual patient. These units feature state-of-the-art equipment, including a biventricular cardiac assist device designed to enhance heart function after surgery.
