On Wednesday, October 27, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Club 300 hosted its second Speaker Event featuring Dr. Elizabeth Lee, Board Certified General Surgeon. Dr. Elizabeth Lee’s topic on “Breast Wellness” was an educational presentation on the latest best practices in diagnosing and treating breast cancer and prevention. more>>
On Thursday, June 28, Club 300 members and potential members gathered at Methodist Hospital’s Lewis Hall for the first Speaker Event for our program. Guests were greeted by Dennis Lee, President/CEO. of Methodist Hospital as he introduced Jim Helms, of Helms and Myers in Arcadia and Methodist Hospital Foundation Board Member Emeritus.
Jim gave a fun and informative discussion on the history of wills. He explained the difference of wills versus trusts and went into details regarding guardianships and estate planning. Guests in attendance also had the opportunity to partake in a question and answer session.
Mike Driebe, President, Methodist Hospital Foundation thanked guests for their interest in Club 300 and talked about he importance of our donors and volunteers to Methodist Hospital.
Ashley Andrews, Club 300 Vice-Chair of Membership shared her personal story and why she chooses to support Methodist Hospital both as a volunteer and a donor. She ended her talk with an invitation for all those in attendance to become a member and get involved in their hospital.

The future of healthcare and the hospital that provides it weighs on the minds of people of all ages. This topic, presented by Dennis Lee, Methodist Hospital President and CEO, drew 30 Club 300 members and guests on March 25. Club 300, an annual giving program under Partners in Health, designed to introduce younger community members, under the age of 55, to Methodist Hospital.
Guests gathered in Administration as they received first-hand information on key subjects such as a construction update, the Blue Cross issue and had the opportunity to participate in a lively question and answer session. The group headed on an insider's tour of the Hollfelder Emergency Care Center and the Stangeland cath lab, guided by Cathy Kaliel, Emergency Department Manager, and Markus Acosta, Lead RN for the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.

Hits TV shows like “ER” and “Grey’s Anatomy” show the drama and triumphs of a hospital emergency room. But have you ever heard the real stories of the challenges and rewards from those actually working in an ER?
Club 300 committee member, Ashley Andrews hosted an “ER Meet and Greet”, on Sunday, September 13 at Monrovia hillside home of her parents, Tom and Glynda Andrews. Guests in attendance had an exclusive opportunity to mingle with our emergency services physicians and staff in a social setting while hearing about the daily life-changing medical care given in the ER.
The evening’s ambiance was relaxed as guests enjoyed the dining buffet stations and remarks by Partners in Health Co-Chair and Methodist Hospital Foundation Board Member, Carmen Thibault. She spoke about the importance of Club 300 to the hospital and the excitement shared by her fellow board members for this program under Partners in Health.
Cathi Kaliel, manager of emergency services at Methodist Hospital then spoke about plans for the new Hollfelder Emergency Care Center, under construction now at Methodist Hospital. She was followed by host, Ashley Andrews who thanked guests for attending and invited them to become members of Club 300 during its inaugural year.
