Methodist Hospital Holds Commencement for SAW Graduates

Cancer Program at Methodist Hospital Receives Recognition
ARCADIA, CA. - Methodist Hospital recently received a three year approval with
commendation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons for
gaining significant distinction in its oncology department. Sonja Flores, cancer resource
center manager, stated “We are proud to say that our program not only received
approval, but commendation in five categories.” Receiving approval means that the
hospital’s facility has dedicated itself to providing the best in the diagnosis and treatment

The statewide medical and health disaster exercise is an annual event that tests
and evaluates hospitals, clinics, EMS and local public health departments on
their ability to deal with catastrophic events. Every year a new scenario is
developed that encourages hospitals and health care providers to interact with
local law enforcement, local emergency management and community partners.
This year’s scenario was selected to address the emerging threat of outbreaks of

Hospital To Begin Construction

tower this month having secured Housing and Urban Development insured tax-exempt
bond financing. The new tower is the cornerstone of a major campus expansion program

and Bea Hollfelder have made a $4 million gift to The Campaign for Methodist Hospital
- Creating the Next Generation of Care. To date, this is the largest outright gift made by
individual donors in the hospital’s 106 year history.
