Top healthcare management credential earned by Methodist Hospital’s Dennis Lee

ARCADIA, Feb. 17, 2011--Methodist Hospital President and CEO Dennis Lee recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders.

This means Lee has achieved board certification in healthcare management and ACHE Fellow status. Only 7,500 healthcare executives hold this distinction. To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating professional/community involvement. Lee joined Methodist Hospital in 1991 as the chief operating officer. He was promoted to executive vice president and administrator in 1992 and in 1994 was named president and CEO. Lee recently announced his plans to retire in 2012. The American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 30,000 healthcare executives, is known for its prestigious credentialing and educational programs. FACHE is also known for its publications, the Journal of Healthcare Management and Healthcare Executive, as well as ground-breaking research, career development and public policy programs.
